Event Details
For the Hutch:
For the Hutch isn’t pretentious, brooding or artistic; They’re a no-frills rock band with driving grooves, big hooks and witty singalong lyrics.
The group first launched in 2005 during the extended hangover from the 1990s punk scene in suburban Westchester County, New York. At first, Hutch was a studio-only project with a rotating lineup, but they were hitting the stage in the New York area and building a reputation for can’t-miss shows with a party-like atmosphere.
For the Hutch contributed a song to the soundtrack for the film “No Alternative” on Rhyme & Reason Records and have released several independent recordings available on streaming or in CD-recycling bins across the country, most recently the EP “Camouflage Halo.”
Saturday Saints:
Saturday Saints (formerly Latterday Saints) are a rock band from Yonkers, New York. Each member brings a different musical influence to the table, combining alternative rock sensibilities with big stadium rock anthems.
Saturday Saints quickly gained a loyal following after their formation in the nineties. The band's sound was refined through extensive gigging in the NYC club circuit. In the late-nineties/early aughts, Saturday Saints were mainstays in iconic haunts like CBGB, Mercury Lounge, ACME Underground, Arlene’s Grocery, and the Hard Rock Cafe. In 2002, they were voted one of the Top 5 Unsigned Bands in NYC on 102.7 WNEW's Ron & Fez Show. The following year they recorded their signature version of Weezer's "Tired of Sex" for Cleopatra Records' cult album A Punk Tribute to Weezer.
Saturday Saints’ influence extends beyond the world of music. The band not only served as inspiration for the feature film, No Alternative, but were also prominently featured on its soundtrack. The movie won "Best Soundtrack" at the Paris Art and Movie Awards in 2019, which propelled the band back into pop culture and got the attention of Rhyme & Reason Records. They are highlighted on the soundtrack alongside such musical luminaries as: Mudhoney, Lisa Loeb, Superdrag, Moby, sElf, Failure, Sebadoh, and others. The soundtrack was chosen as one of the official releases by Record Store Day 2019.
Saturday Saints' catchy riffs and big hooks helped land their first record deal with Rhyme & Reason Records. Their long awaited debut album Anhedonia is scheduled for release in July. The band is grateful for this opportunity and their palpable excitement and newfound energy shines through on their forthcoming record.
