8 Things We Learned from #Dead50 in Santa Clara

The first two nights of "Fare Thee Well" taught us many things, and there's not a question in our minds that we're just getting started. Check out a few of the insights we've learned while we get ready for the last three-nights of #Dead50.

1. There was an epic rainbow. (And it probably needs its own Twitter account.)

An unexpected special guest appeared at the end of Saturday night's first set. Cue glorious rainbow. Photos immediately went viral, and the rainbow's jaw-dropping perfection left some naysayers in awe. #rainbowgate List1

2. We still have "Shakedown Street," "Help > Slip > Frank," "China Cat > Rider," and so much more ahead of us.

To the sad people on couch tour who watched and listened over the last two nights, don't fret, there's still more to come. List2

3. Trey is the guy.

If anyone had any doubts about Trey's authenticity or commitment, they should be silenced at this point. list3

4. You never know who you might run into...

Bravo's Andy Cohen and John Mayer took a selfie at Saturday night's show with the caption “Rainbow over the #GratefulDead !!! It’s Jerry!! @johnmayer #HappyPride”. Screen Shot 2015-06-29 at 6.50.57 PM

5. But you'll definitely see Bill Walton, and he's having the time of his life.

Fans captured several photos of NBA legend Bill Walton enjoying the ride. Not only has Walton blocked more than a few shots in his life, he's probably blocked the view of several Grateful Dead fans. List5

6. If you're lucky, you may spot Phil Lesh or Bill Kreutzmann riding around the parking lot.

Lesh may even bless your baby. Watch the full video of Phil Lesh truckin' down Shakedown Street. philist

7. Peace is everywhere, even if it's (kind of) hard to see.

We give these guys extra credit for a real good try. list9

8. The long strange trip isn't over yet.

We've got three more historic shows to go and we couldn't be more excited. Get ready to turn on your lovelight, and leave it on. List7
