At 68 years old, Alice Cooper stands as one of hard rock's biggest success stories. As the master of shock rock, Cooper's live shows draw from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock. The history of his thrilling performances include such props as electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood, and boa constrictors. Today, we're celebrating Cooper by pulling back the curtain, and highlighting some exceptionally unique and bizarre moments from his career.

1. Alice Cooper meets Elvis Presley in the best story ever

At the Hilton Las Vegas in 1971, Alice Cooper, Liza Minnelli, Chubby Checker, and Linda Lovelace, were all invited to see Elvis Presley perform live. To Cooper's surprise, Presley pulled out a snub-nosed Smith and Weston 38, handed it over, and proceeded to show him the proper technique in pulling the gun out of someone's hand. How does it all end? Watch Cooper retell the tale.

When Alice Cooper first got married, Keith Moon showed up at his house for an announced week-long stay. One startling afternoon, Alice Cooper came home to Moon dressed in a French maid's costume. This, to say the least, was very surprising to Cooper's wife — to Cooper, not so much.

4. Alice finds out that chicken's don't fly

In 1969 at the Toronto Rock' n' Roll Revival Festival, Alice Cooper discovered a chicken on stage. What did he do next? Cooper threw it into the crowd, only to find out that chickens don't fly. What's even worse? The audience decided to tear the chicken to nuggets. When the media headlines read "Alice bites head off chicken and drinks blood," Frank Zappa told Cooper, “Whatever you do, don’t tell anyone you didn’t do it.”

5. Alice Cooper becomes muse for surrealist legend Salvador Dali

In 1973, an overwhelmingly eccentric and awesome collaboration took place between the king of shock-rock and the king of surrealism. Dali make the suggestion, along the lines of, “I would like to turn you into a work of art. It’s name will be ‘First Cylindric Chromo-Hologram Portrait of Alice Cooper`s Brain.'” Cooper was handed a sculpture of his brain, with a chocolate eclair down the middle and ants crawling in and around it. Dali then said, “This is Dali`s version of Alice Cooper`s brain,” to which Cooper replied, “Wow, I never thought I`d ever get this.” That moment inspired and created the first 3-D hologram.
