Event Details
The Phryg
The Phryg is a four piece power funk band with deep pockets and tremendously original music whose talents have brought them all around the country, including playing an after party at Garcia’s for a sold out Vida Blue show at The Capitol Theater in September of 2019. They also recently played an official Umphrey’s McGee pre-party in Philadelphia on halloween weekend of 2019. In addition, they have also played alongside amazing artists like Lettuce, Ryan Montbleau, Consider the Source and Hayley Jane & the Primates last year at Shakori Hills.
The Phryg has also directly supported phenomenal performers such as Bob Lanzetti of Snarky Puppy, Organ Freeman, Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers, The Fritz, Cycles and many more. They have performed at esteemed music venues including Brooklyn Bowl, The 8x10, and Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre.
Having drawn attention from publications such as Performer Magazine, The Jamwich, The Journal News and Pittsburgh Music Magazine, The Phryg released their new single “Bad Habit” in October of 2019 and has plans for more releases to follow. Their self-titled full length album was released in July 2016 as a follow up to their debut EP "Midnight Snack”.
"These bad boys from Brooklyn were hard to peg, with elements of rock, prog and jam, spread thick on a toast of funk. It was delicious to my ears." - Sound and Silence Magazine
Zillawatt
Zillawatt is a kinetic trip through the space between funk, jazz-fusion, and rock, bringing a mix of instrumental not-your-average-jam tunes paired with soul-funk inspired songs featuring powerhouse vocals. Zillawatt has been making waves in the Northeast USA with engaging and danceable original music - moving from the bar scene to sharing festival stages with bands like Soulive, Medeski’s Mad Skillet, and The Motet within a year of adding their fourth member on sax and keys in 2018.
