I Anbassa and The Word. Sound. Power. Movement
I Anbassa & The Word. Sound. Power. Movement delivers high energy, original World Reggae, grounded in Rastafari roots music, laced with rock, funk and afrobeat. Bringing forward a fresh, new and infectious sound, I Anbassa (vocals and guitar) ignites on stage backed by The Word. Sound. Power. Movement: Dave Reiss on bass, Jason Metcalf on keys, Natasha DiMarco on vocals and Matt Moadel on drums. The band's intuitive hooks and bubbling rhythms instantly get the crowd moving and singing along to lyrics that promote self-awareness, consciousness, positivity, and above all, Jah love.

Based out of New York and Connecticut, I Anbassa previously known as Ras N’gosi Anbassa, has been working with his own band since the Summer of 2009. His writing and performing matured quickly and to date, he has played at many sold out shows and festivals throughout the Northeast. Some in mention are:

    • Wormtown Music Festival
    • Charlemont Massachusetts Reggae Festival
    • Sugarloaf Main Reggae Festival
    • Toad’s Place Fall Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Reggae Fest
    • Seacrets (Maryland)
    • Reggae Summer Fest
    • Rock And Roll Resort Music Festival
    • Lake Fest Connecticut with Anthony B and Beres Hammond
    • Alive at Five Stamford Connecticut Music Festival with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic
    • Downtown Thursday Bridgeport CT Music Festival
    • Forever Grateful Danbury CT Music Festival
    • Black Rock Mardi Gras Music Festival
    • Ziontific Hip Hop and Reggae Festival

Playing at these venues and festivals has allowed I Anbassa to share the stage with acts such as:

Steel Pulse, Stephen Marley, the Mighty Diamonds, Beres Hammond, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Tribal Seeds, Lettuce, Anthony B, Deep Banana Blackout, The Alchemystics, Jessie Royal, The Meditations and Anita Antoinette from “The Voice”.

More recently, I Anbassa has started working with reggae legend Ras Denroy Morgan & The Black Eagles. Morgan wrote and performed the 1981 smash hit “I’ll Do Anything For You”. I Anbassa makes an appearance on the soon to be released modern remix of "I’ll Do Anything For You” that also features Beenie Man and Big Daddy Kane (Summer, 2018). I Anbassa is also in the process of recording and releasing three new singles in 2018, produced by Ras Denroy Morgan.

I Anbassa & The Word. Sound. Power. Movement has been featured live on internet webcasts and TV and Radio stations, reaching fans nationally and in Jamaica and Africa. The band's message of positivity and boundless energy has made them a popular choice to play charity events and they spearheaded two successful Hope for Haiti benefits. I Anbassa was voted "Best Reggae Band" in 2010, 2011 and 2012 in the Fairfield Weekly's Connecticut Grand Band Slam Awards. Two songs off his debut EP “Bezu Fehker” have been placed in an award winning independent film “Puff” which has been selected for a possible Netflix series. With new music on the way and a busy touring schedule, 2018 will be an exciting year for I Anbassa & The Word. Sound. Power. Movement.
