    Alex Francis
    Alex Francis
Alex Francis introduced himself in early 2017 with the release of ‘Make Believe’ which tied in neatly with a guest vocal performance on Melanie C’s single ‘Hold On’ the third single from her album ‘Version of Me’. The song was broadcast widely on UK and European radio and featured in the German motion picture ‘Unter deutschen Betten’.

Alex was invited to tour the UK and Europe with Melanie for shows in London, Berlin, Manchester, Liverpool, Hamburg and more. Shortly after he released his debut EP ‘These Words’ and followed that with a string of high profile shows through the summer including the Isle of Wight Festival and British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park opening for Phil Collins. Recorded at Baltic Lane Studios and produced by Eddie Serafica (Jake Bugg) ‘These Words’ was released via Kobalt / AWAL and included the single ‘The Last Time’ that received strong regional support from BBC Introducing and Spotify in the UK. Alex toured the UK with Starsailor last Autumn and performed several times in Europe with rising London trio Paradisia.

Alex’s second EP ‘A Stronger Love’ arrived in late 2017. Recorded at Livingston and RAK Studios in London it caught the attention of Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones who invited Alex to open the European leg of the band’s ‘Scream Above the Sounds’ tour in early 2018. The tour proved key for developing Alex’s European profile and the EP received strong support from Spotify in Germany with two New Music Friday Deutschland additions. The band have continued to be supportive of Alex’s music.
Penned in New York last summer wuth Jeff Silverman (Adele, Aloe Blacc) and Vincent John (Lee Fields) Alex’s latest single ‘Free’ released on June 22nd. Produced by Chris Potter (The Verve) it has already amassed over 100,000 streams on Spotify and has been broadcast nationally in
the UK on BBC Radio 2.

Alex has continued to develop his following in Europe over the summer, opening for Sting through June and July all over the continent and enjoying another string of high profile festival appearances including a return to the Isle of Wight Festival, MadCool Festival in Madrid, Guitare en Scene Festival near Geneva and Blue Balls Festival in Luzern, Switzerland where Alex and his band opened for Alanis Morrisette.
Alex has worked alongside a number of successful songwriters including Anders Grahn (Andrew McMahon, will.i.am) Rupert Christie (Tom Walker, Callum Scott) and Blair McKichan (Sia, Liam Bailey) and has worked out of Nashville and New York extensively. This autumn he will return to the US to work on new material and on September 27th Alex will perform at the Mercury Lounge in New York alongside Anthony D’Amarto.
